Alfred Hitchcock's 'Pyscho' With Orchestra

nerves of an audience, while playing with their
narrative expectations, remains without peer.

Now audiences have the opportunity to see the original film on the big screen accompanied by the Bates Motel Orchestra live on stage, conducted by Nicholas Buc.

COMPOSER – Bernard Herrmann
Academy Award-winning composer, Bernard Herrmann (1911 – 1975) collaborated with Hitchcock on many of his motion pictures
including 'Vertigo' and 'The Birds' but it is PSYCHO which stands today as one of the most dramatic and effective examples of film & music
coupling. There can be no better example of this than 'Psycho'’s infamous shower scene – which Hitchcock had originally planned to leave unscored, but after hearing Herrmann’s composition agreed to include it.

PRODUCER – John Goberman
PSYCHO with Orchestra is produced by US Emmy Award-winning producer, John Goberman best known for Live from the Lincoln Centre for US Broadcaster PBS. The cinematic adaption involved assistance from John Waxman, a film music archivist and son of one of the greatest Hollywood composers, Franz Waxman – a longtime
friend of Herrmann’s. They have premiered other ‘live soundtrack’ presentations, including 'The Wizard of Oz' and recognise how unique this bracketing of film and music is.
