The Kings Of The Box Office: Wog Boy 2

THE KINGS OF MYKONOS: WOG BOY 2, the highly anticipated follow up to the smash hit comedy, THE WOG BOY, opened in Australian cinemas last Thursday, coming in at number two, behind 'Robin Hood', easily beating all other films opening this week.

THE KINGS OF MYKONOS: WOG BOY 2 took A$1,819,000 in its opening weekend making it the biggest opening weekend for an Australian film this year, in front of 'Bran Nue Dae' which opened with A$1,611,000 and went on to gross over A$7.5 million.

These excellent results put THE KINGS OF MYKONOS: WOG BOY 2 at tenth spot in the Top 10 Australian Openings of all time.

Richard Payten, Managing Director of Transmission films said "This is such a pleasing result and shows that there is a real appetite for Australian mainstream comedies. Nick and his team know their audience so well and have proven that for a second time."

Films, Executive Produced by Iain Canning and Andrew Penney and Co-Produced by Sally Ayre-Smith. The film is part financed by Screen Australia and is distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Transmission and Paramount Pictures.
