Entertainment industry professionals who use music in films, advertisements and television series could find their jobs a little less complicated. Announcing a reciprocal agreement, peermusic, the world’s largest global independent publishing company, emerging Sydney based publisher Centrifuge and the respected Hebbes Music Group (HMG), will combine their areas of speciality and substantial portfolio of catalogues, to provide clients with a simplified approach to music licensing. The underlying strategy being to complement, rather than compete.

The new association seems destined for success as clients now receive a broader spectrum of music across major catalogues, in addition to exceptional experience in synch licensing and publishing. Where clients traditionally may shop around for a variety of music tracks, they are now in a position to access three significant catalogues with just one call. With the possibility of bulk deals for TV shows and series, the union becomes even more attractive.

In this instance, it appears more is actually less, according to Centrifuge Managing Director, Tim Bradshaw, “coming together we’re able to offer more, with less work for the client”. Centrifuge would certainly be pleased with the deal, as it raises their profile up a few big notches in music publishing land.

It’s not just Centrifuge Music delighted by the deal. “It makes sense for all of us,” Matthew Donlevy, Managing Director of peermusic acknowledges. "We are really excited by the possibilities”.
