Promo Scape Create First Digitally Restored Australian Feature On Blu-ray

Leading Australian DVD and Blu-ray authoring house, Promo Scape, have created the first digitally restored Australian feature on Blu-ray – 'Picnic at Hanging Rock', a classic film never before seen in this quality.

Made possible by Promo Scape’s state-of-the-art CINEMA CRAFT® HD Encoder CC-HDe) – the highest quality Blu-ray AVC encoder in the world – the final encode is near identical to the HD master, if not better, with a slight noise reduction helping to reduce excessive film grain in parts.

“The request to do 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' came along in December 2009, soon after we purchased our CC-HDe. It was a great opportunity to showcase not only a classic Australian film on Blu-ray, but to make it look as good as the restored HD master," said

The Blu-ray release of 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' will be available in stores, distributed by
Umbrella Entertainment, on May 12, 2010.
