SPAA Fringe Dates Confirmed for 2010
April 15, 2010 10:52
SPAA Fringe is the leading event for educating and connecting Australia's up and coming film, television and online sector. SPAA Fringe will be held at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney on 22 and 23 October.
SPAA Fringe is an interactive two-day conference aimed at those who are serious about building a career in the Australian screen industry.
The event is comprised of workshops, roundtables, one-on-one sessions, panel discussions, film screenings and social networking events.
"In 2010, SPAA Fringe will continue to connect the next generation of filmmakers with industry professionals and likeminded individuals.
Networking and gaining industry knowledge is essential to any filmmaker who wants to develop their career. SPAA Fringe makes this possible," says Gaylee Butler, SPAA Fringe Director.
In 2009 the conference presented an impressive line-up of speakers that included Oscar winning and double BAFTA nominated Producer Mia Bays from the UK's Missing In Action Films and AFI award winning Producer Kath Shelper ('Samson & Delilah').
In 2010 filmmakers will have the opportunity to meet and pitch their ideas to executives from SBS, ABC, Foxtel as well distributors and established producers.
The program offers insight, creative direction and practical ways to connect screen professionals via several channels including The Melting Pot, an online portal where projects can be posted; resources, investment and marketing opportunities tracked and collaborations formed.
