April 13, 2010 15:03
Artists of every kind, including painters and sculptors, musicians and singers, performance and multi-media artists, arts organisations and indeed all those who love the arts are being called to join in the most fun-filled festival celebrating the arts in Sydney - the Manly Arts Festival (running from 3 - 19 September 2010).
The deadline for applications by participating artists is Friday 14 May 2010.
Venues, including galleries, cafes, restaurants and other spaces, are also invited to host and/or organise arts-related events during the Festival.
“We are inviting artists, musicians, performers, arts organisations and the wider community to participate in the 2010 Manly Arts Festival by running their own events to better promote and celebrate creative activity across Manly and Sydney’s Northern Beaches,” said the Mayor of Manly and Chair of the Manly Arts Festival Committee, Councillor Jean Hay.
This year’s Festival will include:
• Visual Arts exhibitions and events
• Music events
• Literary events
• Film events
• Workshops
• Performance events
• Youth events
• Kids events
“The Manly Arts Festival is a celebration of the achievements, dedication and innovation of Manly’s creative community,” said Councillor Hay.
“Local artists, both practising professional artists and amateur artists alike, are able to participate by organising arts-related events across Manly.”
