Murderball (like the movie) International Super Series

With the 2010 World Wheelchair Rugby Championship less than six months away, four leading Wheelchair Rugby nations – including Australia’s ‘Steelers’ – warm up with an international super series in Sydney.
ABC TV will screen two hours of highlights from the five-day international super series, as well as Sunday’s two final matches from the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre.
Australia’s Steelers team face tough competition from three highly rated nations – New Zealand, Great Britain and Canada.
The two-hour telecast on Sunday, May 2nd from 9.30pm on ABC2 will also be available on ABC iView. ABC TV’s sports broadcaster, Peter Wilkins, will provide the commentary.
Wilkins says wheelchair rugby is a rough and tumble affair with rules and tactics galore. “This sport is like no other. It grabs your interest immediately, courtesy of the physicality of the combatants, the speed of the game and those ‘tactics’.”
Wilkins says Australia’s team boast the world’s best player in Ryley Batt. “Ryley is dynamic, aggressive, and a matchwinning
envy of the other teams.
