Stereophonics and P-Money To Perform At The 2010 Optus ONE80PROJECT Festival in Hyde Park

April 09, 2010 15:22

MTV, Optus and BlackBerry are excited to announce a free live acoustic set by dynamic Welsh rockers, Stereophonics, at the 2010 OPTUS ONE80PROJECT festival in Sydney’s Hyde Park. Taking place on Sunday 18 April from 6pm, Stereophonics will be followed by a screening of the OPTUS ONE80PROJECT Top 10 finalists’ entries and a performance by New Zealand’s favourite DJ and Producer, P-Money.

The festival will announce the winners of the Judges Choice Award and Viewers Choice Award of the 2010 OPTUS ONE80PROJECT, a national competition that invited anyone with a good idea for an hour long TV drama to submit a 180 second pilot and an accompanying treatment.

Hyde Park will be transformed into an early cinema New York styled theatre for the OPTUS ONE80PROJECT Festival. Complete with park benches, pizzas served by Doughboy and complimentary popcorn, Stereophonics will open the festival with a 40 minute full acoustic set.

Stereophonics frontman, Kelly Jones said, “We always love playing in big venues but there is something magical about playing an acoustic set in a park in the heart of Sydney city. This is a great way to show our fans another side to our music and to celebrate what sounds like a fantastic event that supports local talent.”

The top 10 entries were selected by representatives from Optus and MTV and will be voted on by a panel of industry experts including Sam Neill, Xavier Samuel (Twilight) and Sophie Lowe (Beautiful Kate).
