Academy Award Winner John Cox Will Be Guest Speaker At Gold Coast Arts Centre Basement

S.T.A.R.S Screen Theatre and Writers Studio with Caroline Russo Media Promotions will present Academy award winner John Cox who will share his personal experience in ‘My Road to the Academy Awards and Beyond: What it really means to win an Oscar’ at the Basement at the Gold Coast Arts Centre 6:30pm, Wednesday 28th April.
John was the recipient of a 1995 Academy Award for visual effects for the hit movie 'Babe'. The John Cox Creature Workshop has international acclaim as a leader in the design and manufacture of fantasy creatures, monsters and realistic animals.
Based on the Gold Coast, the Creature Workshop has worked world wide including Europe, South Africa, Asia and New Zealand. Their projects have included 'Nim's Island', 'Speed Racer', 'Rogue', 'Host', 'Siegfried', 'Racing Stripes', 'Peter Pan', 'George of the Jungle 2', 'Inspector Gadget 2', 'Scooby Doo', 'Crocodile Dundee in LA', 'Komodo', 'Pitch Black', 'Gargantua', 'Moby Dick', Jackie Chan's 'First Strike', 'Babe' and 'Kangaroos'.
This is a great night to not only meet and hear John speak but to network with other filmmakers as well as emerging artists that are keen to learn more.
