Q&A With Jeff Daniels - Director of 10 Conditions Of Love

The 10 Conditions of Love follows the struggle of Rebiya Kadeer, the leader of the Uyghur people, the oppressed Muslim population of China’s Xinjiang province. Kadeer now lives in exile in the United States. Here she is quickly gaining influential friends and media coverage to help her campaign for her people's human rights. As a result, her children are in prison in China.
At the 2009 Melbourne International Film Festival, the Chinese embassy demanded the
festival's director Richard Moore remove the film from the festival. The festival
organisers refused and the festival's website was hacked. Kadeer attended the highly
publicised screening at the festival.
The film was the subject of worldwide press coverage through BBC, CNN and the New York Times. China is continuing its boycott of the film at festivals.
ABC have withdrawn the film from a planned broadcast, which has made this highly topical title the subject of senate debate and front page news in The Australian as well as key news items in Encore, The Age and ABC Radio.
Umbrella released 10 Conditions of Love exclusively through Borders nationally on
March 1st.
