Bollywood classic reinvented for a new generation
February 09, 2010 13:02
Following a hugely successful sell out UK tour last year, a stunning adaptation of the 1957 Oscar-nominated film Mother India: 21st Century Remix (MI21) will kick off Screen Live on March 7.
In MI21, British Asian DJ Tigerstyle, one of the world's leading Turntablists and electronic composers, has put together an impressive contemporary electronic and strings based score to convey the myriad of actions and emotions expressed on screen.
Tigerstyle will be joined on stage by the talented Matt Constantine on the keyboards and electric cello and David Shaw on the drums.
Despite a brief running time of 45 minutes MI21 is an experimental film and true to its original source, it has been re-cut and remixed exclusively for this performance.
