SurfAid 10 Year Anniversary at YSF10
November 25, 2009 14:41
The summer of 2010 will host the first annual Yallingup Surf Film festival. An eclectic mix of Sundance and South By South West with an Australian edge, this diverse and classic event is motivated by a collective love for the ocean.
Held in Yallingup WA from January 22-24, the festival will explore surf culture, premiere and screen international surf films, present live music, and display art and a unique historical surf culture exhibition under the summer night skies at the MadFish Winery.
The aim of YSF is to lift social and environmental awareness. The festival will explore various aspects of surf culture that oceanic philosophy can inspire by providing a forum for passionate filmmakers, musicians and artists from around the world to share their creativity.
Many films are world premieres, or making it to Australia for the first time. A draft program will be released this week and a final program will be in place by 15 December.
Tickets will be available for sale online from Wednesday 25 November. Please check the
yallingupsurfilm.com.au website for any updates and be sure to become a fan on Facebook so you can follow the newest additions to the event.
