Pic of the Day – Helena Bonham Carter

Helena Bonham Carter is making sure Tim Burton didn’t say anything nasty about her in our Alice in Wonderland issue...

As the partner of Tim Burton, it's no wonder that Helena Bonham Carter is an actress whose career has been a terrific, albeit unconventional, one. Trying her hand at romantic period pieces (A Room With a View, Howards End) and edgy dramas (Fight Club), perhaps Carter is most effortless when cast in more offbeat roles such as her many collaborations with Burton in films such as Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland. Becoming the go-to actress when one requires a wacky and truly wicked villain, Carter can most recently be seen on the big screen as the evil witch Bellatrix Lestrange, terrorising our three favourite Hogwarts graduates in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1which just hit cinemas. In a slightly different role, Carter plays Queen Elizabeth in the upcoming period drama The King's Speech which will be released here on Boxing Day.
