Pic of the Day – Tom Hardy

Who’s this strapping young man flicking through the pages of FILMINK? Why, it’s Tom Hardy!

While Tom Hardy has starred in a clutch of films including Black Hawk Down, Star Trek: Nemesis, The Reckoning, Layer Cake and the TV miniseries Wuthering Heights (swoon!), it was really his remarkable performance in Nicolas Winding Refn's Bronson (which took home the top prize at Sydney Film Festival last year) as the hard hitting titular criminal which really made audiences sit up and take notice. Since then the talented British actor has featured in Christopher Nolan's sci-fi thriller Inception - Hardy told FILMINK he had to read the script thirty times because "it was far too complex" for him! - and it was recently confirmed that he will reunite with the director for the latest Batman film to be called The Dark Knight Rises. Hardy was able to commit to this project after shooting of George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road - in which the actor had also been cast - was delayed until 2012. Exciting stuff.
