Twilight’s leading lady offers up a smile...
There's no doubt Twilight fever's about to swing into full force this week with the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1, the second last instalment in the history-making franchise, so we thought we'd kick it along with our pic of Kristen Stewart. While the young actress may be continually labelled "moody" and "mopey" by the press, when FILMINK spoke to Stewart - in town promoting Eclipse - we took a real liking to her and found her to be thoughtful and sincere. People may be quick to dismiss the melodrama of the Twilight films, but one shouldn't make the mistake of simultaneously dismissing the talent of Stewart, quickly emerging as one of the most promising actresses of her generation. She's of course best known for her turn as the love-struck Bella Swan, but Stewart has impressed in a fistful of other productions including the sweet indie drama Adventureland, her turn as Joan Jett in the rocking biopic The Runaways, and a small but scene-stealing role in Sean Penn's Into The Wild. And while Stewart has an equally exciting handful of films on the horizon (including the adaptation of Jack Kerouac's On The Road and the epic adventure Snow White & The Huntsman which will see her star alongside Aussie Chris Hemsworth), she's not, as some would suspect, ready to run from the series that made her famous. "The coolest part for me about being part of a franchise is being able to follow a character for so long," Stewart told us last year. "I always get so sad. I feel like a character's ripped from me at the end of a show because you just don't have enough time. If it was a good experience, that's usually the best way to feel. In this case, it was just so nice and indulgent to be able to go back and always know that there's more story left to tell..."
